Del positivismo a los mecanismos generativos : el programa de investigación pionero de Raymond Boudon

Este artículo compara brevemente dos tradiciones de investigación: la del empirismo y la de los mecanismos generativos. Además, recuerda también brevemente los argumentos del empirismo epistemológico y su justificación filosófica, cuya expresión paradigmática es el positivismo. El artículo examina, pues, las críticas que se han dirigido contra esta tradición y expone los principios de la estrategia de los mecanismos generativos en sociología limitándose a las investigaciones de Boudon, que son las más representativas de esta orientación metodológica.This paper briefly compares two research traditions: empiricism and generative mechanisms. Moreover, it briefly recalls the arguments of empiricist epistemology and its philosophical justification, whose paradigmatic expression is positivism. The paper then examines the criticisms that have been addressed against this trend and sets out the principles of the generative mechanisms strategy in sociology by focusing on several studies by Boudon which are the most representative of this methodological orientation.Aquest article compara breument dues tradicions de recerca: la de l'empirisme i la dels mecanismes generatius. A més, també recorda breument els arguments de l'empirisme epistemològic i la seva justificació filosòfica, l'expressió paradigmàtica de la qual és el positivisme. Improved backtracking search optimization algorithm for PV/Wind/FC system

This paper uses a novel optimization method based on the improved backtracking search optimization algorithm (IBSA). The study is conducted for a hybrid stand-alone system composed of photovoltaic panel (PV), wind turbine generator and fuel cell electrolyzer (FC). To demonstrate the effectiveness of the IBSA, four benchmark functions are used. The result shows the better exploration and exploitation of the improved backtracking search optimization algorithm in terms of convergence and speed for system comprinsing PV panel wind, turbine generator and fuel cell. The proposed algorithm is used to optimize the annual total cost (ATC) of the energy produced and feed up the load demand. The economic evaluation of the Hybrid PV/Wind/FC system is done throughout hourly demand and daily wind speed and insulation. The simulation results justify the robustness of the IBSA

Modeling and control of double star induction machine by active disturbance rejection control

This paper aims to contribute to the modeling and control of the double star induction machine (DSIM) by a robust method called active disturbance rejection control (ADRC). The ADRC has become in the last decade one of the most important techniques of regulation. This method is based on the use of an ESO (Extended State Observer) which estimates in real-time and at the same time the external disturbances and the errors due to the variations of the parameters of the machine and to the uncertainties of modeling. The two stators of DSIM are powered by three-phase inverters based on transistors and MLI control and the entire system is modeled in Park's reference. We analyze in the Matlab/Simulink environment the dynamic behavior of the system and the different ADRC controllers under different operating conditions. The result has demonstrated the performance and effectiveness of the ADRC

Some Generative Mechanisms of Intellectual Production

In this contribution, the author tests empirically the three markets’ hypothesis developed by Ben-David and Boudon on the basis of data on intellectual production in the field of social sciences and humanities in Morocco. The article highlights the mathematical models of the intellectual production that are found to be different from those that characterize production in the natural sciences. One important conclusion the author comes up with in his study is that « Matthew effect», identified by Merton for the natural sciences, is nonexistent in the social sciences and humanities. Production in these latter disciplines does not fit in this effect according to which the act of publishing once increases the probability of publishing a second time and so on. Such an absence of cumulative process is accounted for based on the structure of market supply and demand of intellectual products as well as the increasingly tenuous role played by the scientific community.Cet article entend mettre à l’épreuve l’hypothèse des trois marchés élaborée par Ben-David et Boudon en la soumettant aux caractéristiques de la production intellectuelle en sciences sociales et humaines au Maroc. À l’appui de données longitudinales qui s’étendent sur cinq décennies, l’auteur fait alors état de modèles mathématiques en sciences humaines et sociales différents de ceux qui caractérisent la production dans les sciences de la nature où la propension à publier un article scientifique croît de manière cumulative à raison du nombre d’articles publiés. L’une des conclusions importantes que l’auteur en déduit est que « l’effet Mathieu », identifié par Merton pour les sciences de la nature, est inexistant dans les sciences sociales et humaines. Selon l’auteur, l’explication de l’absence de ce processus cumulatif se fonde sur la structure des marchés de l’offre et de la demande des produits intellectuels et sur le rôle de plus en plus ténu que joue la communauté scientifique en sciences humaines et sociales
